Dr. J. Perry Lovinggood, MD is board certified in the field of Urology. He has been in practice for over 21 years. Dr. Lovinggood practices general urology and has three office locations to better serve his patients. Dr. Lovinggood does see children and has special interests in Robotic surgery, oncology, reconstruction and laser surgery. Dr. Lovinggood is versed in several new treatments for BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy), including microwave and laser ablation of the prostate. These procedures are designed to be minimally invasive, to help patients with busy lifestyles that can’t take time for traditional surgical treatments. He is active in the division of oncology at the hospitals he serves. His expertise in the field of urology, include Robotic laparoscopic renal, prostate and bladder surgery, continent urinary diversion, and perineal prostatectomy. Dr. Lovinggood is actively involved in the field of male and female incontinence with the use of the male and female sling, mesh for female pelvic prolapse, and the Artificial Urinary Sphincter. Dr. Lovinggood has a special interest in treatment of Erectile Dysfunction, including the use of the all the different types of Penile Prosthesis.
Dr. J Perry Lovinggood, MD a native Missourian, graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then went to the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri to receive his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. From there, he completed a residency in Urology and a fellowship in Nephrology/renal transplantation.
Dr. Lovinggood is a member of many professional associations including the American Association of Clinical Urologists and Missouri State Medical Association. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and American Board of Medical Examiners. He has received certification in Extracorporeal Lithotripsy from the Texas Endosurgery Institute for Laser surgery, and in Davinci Surgery from Ohio State University. Dr. Lovinggood is the active chair person for the St. John's Mercy Medical Center Dept. of Urological Oncology.
